Vaizgantas Progymnasium Year 4 and Year 6 students explored the habitats of endangered animals. They discussed and tried to find out the reasons why so many animals are in danger and what we can do to help them.
In December and January Vaizgantas Progymnasium students learnt about endangered animals. Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 students created fact files, made slide presentations, drew posters. At first students made their presentations in classes. Then chose 3 the most interesting ones and presented them in a primary students’ mini conference. At our school assembly hall. It is amazing that students were so creative, interested and involved in their work!
Our Year 1 students carried out an investigation that we observed in a lesson at Ettore Sacconi. They had 3 polar stations set up in different environments. They made predictions about what they thought might happen to the ice at each of the 3 stations, one cold, one warmer and one hot. Once they had carried out their investigations they discussed how they can reduce the amount of heat they created to stop this from happening in real life.
