Some of the younger children in our school explored European countries that were located nearer to the equator. First of all we had to find out where the equator was. We were amazed to discover that it runs through lots of countries all over the world.
Then we learnt about the weather near the equator and away from the equator. We discovered that out of all of the countries in our partnership we were the furthest away from the equator.
We also looked at countries that are prone to flooding or droughts. We learnt what both of these things mean and how they affected each of our partner countries. We discussed why some countries are flooding more often than they used to and we realised that this was because of Climate Change.
