In April Vaizgantas Progymnasium Year 4 and Year 5 students investigated how melting of polar ice caps effects the sea level. The students with their class teachers carried out a fair test which was devised and uploaded by Saint Columba’s Primary School from England.
The experiment was completed in two days. On the first day the students made the South and North Poles, placed the ice, made their predictions and left the ice to melt. On the second day the students measured water levels and tried to find out the reasons why the water levels were different. The students found the experiment very interesting and as they said they would remember about the South and North Poles forever.
